What’s Cooking ?

Hi Everyone

It’s about time to reveal some of the things we are working on.

Since our last update, we have received a massive amount of feedback both through the steam discussions but also from our Google Questionaire and are trying to keep up with all the suggestions on how we can make Wartile a better game.

20% discount on Wartile
As you might have noticed, we are running a 20% discount on the Steam Autumn sale until the 28th November.

Wartile Original Soundtrack
We would also highlight the great work that our Music Composer and Sound Designer Simon Holm List [tiktaktones.com] Simon Holm List have made with the Wartile Original Soundtrack that can be acquired as a DLC to Wartile.

Now let’s take a look at what’s cooking.

The Campaign menu
Art update to the UI used to navigate between scenes in the Campaign Map
Each scene in the Campaign map now has names.
Improved UI setup and functionality on all menus used in the various scenes on the campaign map

The Merchant
We had lots of request from our community regarding the usability of the merchant, and we have made a thorough rework of how it works. Now it will be possible to compare stats on items with equipment already owned. All buying and selling are handled by the merchant from now on.

The Jotunheim Battle board
Jotunheim is one of the nine realms mention in Norse mythology as the home of the giants and will set the scene of one of the new battle boards in the campaign.

Niflheim and Mimir’s well of Wisdom
As you adventure deeper into the ice caves of Jotunheim, will see Niflheim in your quest for a drop of water from Mimir’s well of Wisdom. This is the setting for another battle board that we are working on.

Rewards Overhaul
We’re also working on a rewards overhaul that aims to bring the battle board difficulties into the game progression in a proper manner. The goal is to add cards/equipment to unlock at every difficulty and add better feedback that helps define when to enter the difficulties. These changes are the first step in that direction.

  • Progression overall is currently not changed
  • All rewards now unlock on completing a map on a certain difficulty instead of when completing secondary-objectives
  • Secondary objectives now only affects unlocking higher difficulties and the score
  • A reputation system will help the player evaluate how hard a battle board tier is, compared to his/her progression.

So when will we release?

Question from Boris always Boris

“So … are you going to release the game anytime soon?
“next month” back in September is October(ish), now it is fast approaching December(ish).”

We know that we said that the final release of Wartile should have happened around these months. Sadly, we have to announce today that we will need a bit more time.We had to decide if we wanted to rush toward the planned release or spend a bit more time polishing and tweaking the game to reach a quality level we can be proud of and that match your expectations.

Our awesome Fan Localization team have been busy translating Wartile into their native languages. Here is a list of languages that we currently are supporting and constantly updating thanks to their awesome contribution.

  • Danish
  • German
  • French
  • Spanish
  • Japanese
  • portuguese
  • Polish
  • Russian

Again thanks a lot to our Fan localization team for bringing Wartile out to a broader audience.

That was everything, for now, we are looking forward release our next major update and hope it will be anytime soon.

Have a nice weekend everyone

Best regards

The Wartile Dev Team
